On March 29, 2015, during the Boao Forum for Asia, Peng Liyuan, wife of President Xi Jinping and World Health Organization (WHO) Goodwill Ambassador for Tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS, came to Hainan University to attend the “AIDS/TB Prevention and Cure Promotion on Campus on Hainan University”. Esther, wife of President of Zambia, Bill Gates, President of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and envoys and representatives of international organizations also attended the event. Before the event, Peng Liyuan met with Bill Gates and fully affirmed the contributions of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation with Chinese related departments on building in global health care and their cooperation with China in public health, hoping the Foundation continuously deepen collaboration with Chinese related departments in the filed of public health.
