Co-hosted by the State Administration for Market Regulation, P.R.C., Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and Codex Alimentarius Commission, the The 12th Belt and Road Eco-Agriculture and Food Safety Forum was held successfully on 6 November, 2019, during the 2nd CIIE in Shanghai.
 
With the theme “Expanding Imported Food & Enriching People’s Life”, the Forum delivered a message to strengthen the international cooperation in food and agriculture, to promote healthy and orderly development of the food and agriculture industry in China, to ensure people’s health and safety and to satisfy the beautiful life expectation of the people from the countries along the Belt and Road.

As the important new achievement of the Forum, the Belt and Road Agriculture and Food Trade Information Platform (version 2.0) was launched with witness of the presented leaders. The Platform focused on the international cooperation of agricultural and food products along the Belt and Road countries, to provide an efficient, reliable way of the bulk trading connecting suppliers and distributors.

The Belt and Road Eco-Agriculture and Food Safety Forum is once again being held as the official supporting event of the Shanghai CIIE following the successful year of 2018 with the grand launch of CIIE. New Era, Shared Future, the slogan of CIIE, also shares the same goal of the Forum: continue building platform for government and private sectors and keep on promoting the international cooperation for the agriculture and food industry.
